Siren Interactive Joins The Economist Pharma Summit Panel Discussion in London
OAK PARK, IL (January 24, 2012) – Wendy White, founder and president of Siren Interactive, will be participating in the panel discussion, “Putting the Patient at the Centre,” at The Economist Pharma Summit 2012 in London on February 9. Now in its 18th year, the event will be chaired by Geoffrey Carr, science editor of The Economist. The agenda will focus on pharma’s role in emerging healthcare models, the real implications of patient-centric healthcare, and the innovations that will transform the industry.
“Empowered patients are a driving force behind the development of therapies for rare disease, which is analogous to the future of healthcare as we move toward personalized medicine,” said White, who will share her expertise as a rare disease caregiver, patient advocate and online relationship marketer. “The internet and social media have leveled the playing field as patients around the world access disease data and connect with each other to share information and advice on diagnosis and treatment. This paradigm shift in relationships between patients, providers and payers has multiple implications, which provide both challenges and opportunities.”
Under the theme of “Finding New Directions,” the 2012 event will feature a series of keynotes, panel discussions, interviews and debates to explore ideas in detail and hear from established players and new entrants who are completely changing the game. Keynote speakers include C-suite leaders from AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, Takeda Pharmaceuticals International and NICE. Billed as the strategic event for the pharma industry, each year the Pharma Summit brings together industry experts and thought leaders to identify trends that have the potential to transform the pharmaceutical industry.
