Siren Leads Workshop on Collaboration Between Pharma and Patient Organizations at CBI's Rare Disease Leadership Summit

The CBI 5th Annual Rare Disease Leadership Summit will be held on July 13 -14, 2010, in Arlington, Virginia. Siren will sponsor and lead a pre-conference workshop, Pharma, Patient Organizations and Social Media - A Collaboration Worth Considering. Collaboration around a cause can provide a safe introduction to social media for pharmaceutical companies, help to educate medical/legal teams on the benefits and add value to the patient relationship. Non-profit organizations can be an important partner in these efforts as well and provide an effective way for pharma to gain access to patients via social media.

Siren used social media to support the Rare Disease Day 2010 initiative of the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD), a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people with rare diseases. In support, Lundbeck Inc. launched a campaign to promote Rare Disease Day and raise funds for rare disease research. The successful program delivered value and achieved results for all participants. Attend this insightful workshop and learn how your organization can gain access to rare disease stakeholders by partnering with a patient organization.

Key Questions to Be Addressed:

  • What are the key considerations in developing a social media campaign?
  • How do you sell this idea internally to your regulatory group?
  • What can be used to measure success of these campaigns?
  • How does this benefit the patient community?

Workshop Faculty:

  • Wendy White, President and Founder of Siren Interactive
  • Mary Dunkle, VP Communications, National Organization for Rare Disorders
  • Sally Benjamin Young, Vice President, Communications at Lundbeck Inc.
  • Craig DeLarge, Associate Director, eMarketing & Relationship Marketing at Novo Nordisk A/S
