Siren Interactive Wins Heart Award

Siren Walks Away with Heart Award at 22nd Annual Manny Awards

Oak Park, IL (May 2, 2011) – Siren Interactive, a relationship marketing agency focused on rare disease therapies, was named the 2011 Heart Award Recipient at the 22nd Annual Manny Awards in New York. The Heart Award honors the agency that demonstrates unwavering commitment to philanthropic and social endeavors. Winners were announced on April 28 at the awards gala at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers in New York, NY. In addition to the prestigious award, a $3,000 check was donated to the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) in the name of Siren Interactive. Mary Dunkle, NORD Vice President for Communications, accepted the check on behalf of NORD at the event. This was Siren’s first nomination for the Heart Award.

Siren attributes this honor to its dedication and singular focus to rare disease patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals. For the past three years, Siren has served pro bono as the interactive partner for NORD on Rare Disease Day U.S. Siren also recently published the book “Uncommon Challenges; Shared Journeys,” a compilation of 13 personal stories that vividly describe the effect rare diseases have on families. All profits from the book will be donated to the 13 non-profit organizations selected by the authors.

The editors of Med Ad News present the Manny Awards each year to honor the best in pharmaceutical and healthcare advertising. Wendy White, President and Founder of Siren Interactive, accepted the Heart Award: “We are so grateful for the recognition this award represents, and for the increased focus on some of the most vulnerable and neglected patients and caregivers around, who are also some of the most empowered. By recognizing the influence of caregivers in this more connected world we can all make a difference.”
