Core Responsibilities

Content strategy and leadership

  • Becomes content expert for information related to disease and audience needs.
  • Conducts research, such as user testing, competitive analysis, surveys, online intelligence, and content audits to guide strategy and ensure high-quality and intuitive user-centered content.
  • Applies research and analytics to create compelling content strategies based on user needs, business objectives, and product knowledge.
  • Communicates and presents content recommendations to relevant departments/decision makers, justifying with a solid rationale.
  • Provides thought leadership and drives a strong customer point of view for all content initiatives.
  • Guides the creation of promotional messaging for emails and SEM strategy and implementation
  • Presents content strategy deliverables to client when appropriate.

Information strucure

  • Generates detailed site content inventories/audits and evaluates content breadth, organization, and presentation.
  • Analyzes data and current site architecture to assess the effectiveness of existing content categorization and flow.
  • Works with client to help develop and manage the customer-facing content taxonomies and metadata frameworks for large-scale projects, including information hierarchy, and final content structure.
  • Facilitates group exercises to categorize information in preparation for site design.

Content Development

  • Works with stakeholders to define and plan content to be created, rewritten, migrated, or removed.
  • Researches and develops new medical, technical and lifestyle content appropriate for patient and healthcare professional audiences.
  • Applies appropriate brand voice and tone for online audience and ensures brand compliance.
  • Establishes content guidelines and editorial procedures for consistent tone, style, and voice.
  • Contributes to a culture of innovation and teamwork with measurable positive results.

Search Engine Optimization

  • Conducts keyword research and incorporates into SEO strategy
  • Monitors effectiveness of keyword strategies and suggests improvements
  • Participates in creating PPC strategies and writes PPC ads to support strategy
  • Analyzes reports and provides feedback and recommendations on strategy

Analysis of Web Metrics

  • Participates in identification of KPIs
  • Identifies meaningful variables to track success
  • Provides analysis of monthly and quarterly metrics reports
  • Recommends modifications based on analysis

Regulatory Compliance

  • Upholds adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Participates in client regulatory review as required
  • Ensures brand compliance.
  • Maintains accuracy and quality standards.
  • Conducts research and references content sources using AMA guidelines.

Marketing Communications

  • Assists in developing strategy for Siren website, identifying opportunities, and updating content
  • Supports marketing with new content for emails, promotions, and special events
  • Researches opportunities for AieM, and creates appropriate content strategies
  • Edits contributions to Siren Song and creates new strategies and content
  • Edits and creates content for proposals and presentations

Agency Contribution

  • Deadline-oriented with the ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple projects within tight timeframes.
  • Be a team player willing to work closely and efficiently with designers, developers, project managers, outside vendors and customers.
  • Acts as a brand ambassador for Siren Interactive, positively representing Siren and looking for new opportunities for Siren growth.
  • Proactively identifies ways for Siren to be more efficient and effective internally and how we provide excellent solutions to our clients.
  • Strives to ensure that all performed work achieves the highest level of quality, and that all Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes have been adhered to.
  • Accurately accounts for all your billable and non-billable time in very timely manner.
  • Proactively supports others within the company, including project team members, department members and other departments.

Professional Development

  • Remains on the forefront of new and emerging developments in the area of rare diseases and therapies and pertinent healthcare industry practices, and the potential application on client engagements.
  • Participates in all relevant internal training and education.

  • 3-5 years experience writing for patient and healthcare professional audiences.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Able to think strategically and develop succinct, creative, and compelling messaging.
  • Connects to both patient and professional populations.
  • Enjoys the give and take of working with visual design and account team.
  • Able to distill, summarize, find key points and make complex medical topics accessible for a wider audience.
  • Able to understand and master scientific and medical models as needed.
  • Familiar with goals and best practices for web development environments and information architecture.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and under tight deadlines.
  • Effectively review deliverables and internal documents for content, style, accuracy, grammar, spelling, and punctuality.
  • Able to distill, summarize, find key points and make complex medical topics accessible for a wider audience.
  • Careful, consistent and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Power Point, Excel, Word
  • Skilled at interviewing.
