Function Overview
The Manager, Database is part of the Account Planning team and is responsible for database development and management projects for the agency. The MDB is responsible for achieving corporate and department objectives. The person in this role is responsible for working across all accounts overseeing the tactical execution of client programs; this includes databases, mailing lists, ecommunications, surveys and cross-channel customer touchpoints. Responsible for executive level analysis of database and campaign reports, including client presentations. This role requires a results-driven professional with an ability to identify areas in need of improvement and develop solutions that optimize results, increase patient engagement, and decrease client costs.
Core Responsibilities
- Active participant in the development of new business opportunities for data warehousing services. Develop scope and pricing for client opportunities in database strategy/management; author appropriate RFP and presentation materials.
- Identifies and engages with the client and/or account team in order to expose new opportunities within the client's enterprise. Educate strategy and account team members on how to identify data warehousing opportunities and anticipate solutions.
- Recommend and oversee implementation of strategies for building databases (depth and breadth of quality data) including segmentation and progressive disclosure data collection process, delivering a superior customer experience.
- Analyzes data to develop campaigns and strategies, in addition to overseeing data analysis, data querying and segmentation.
- Develops campaign lists based upon review of analysis on previous programs and client needs.
- Understand individual database capabilities and limitations, recommending solutions to problems arising from ambiguity of data and revising policies and procedures as needed. Proactively communicate this with internal team.
- Analyze and present all database and campaign results to client stakeholders with validated data and actionable recommendations; collaborate with strategy and account services on presentation materials.
- Guide client, client partners, and in-house team on best practices for database marketing, survey data collection and eCommunications to increase campaign success and cost-efficiency.
- Able to provide cost-effective solutions for data profiling, predictive modeling, segmentation, behavior tracking and engagment scoring
- In house expert on the ESP and Database partner tools. Evaluate and recommend alternate solutions if required. Manage relationships with relevant vendor partners.
- Manage database vendor review, including potential migration to new location and implementation
- Create and maintain all process documentation related to agency database service offerings.
Department Leadership
- Work with team members to resolve and prevent project issues.
- Develop and lead data warehousing team goals and objectives.
- Meet with team members weekly for one-on-one.
- Perform annual performance evaluations with all team members.
- Informs management team of departmental budget needs. Considers budget to determine: Salary and Bonus compensation, Hiring, and miscellaneous department needs.
- Serves as higher-level liaison with other departments.
- Supervises/mentors other team members.
Professional Development
- Create, manage and report on personal goals and objectives that help to meet the company goals.
- Participate in annual Performance Evaluations.
- Represent Siren at key conferences and relevant associations.
- Participate in all relevant internal training and education.
- Seeks and participates in development opportunities above and beyond training required by job description.

Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree; 5 -7 years of progressive experience in data warehousing, demonstrating competency as a data architect including requirements gathering, analysis and design, database design, database development, data management, team leadership and customer relationship management.
- Ability to write and execute database queries using Microsoft Access, and SQL.
- Implements strategic marketing initiatives for database creation and management.
- Natural curiosity and affinity for data and analysis.
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
- Proven ability to understand and interpret business need and identify appropriate business and technical solutions to meet those needs.
- Extremely detail-oriented, organized and highly motivated.
- Always thinking about how we can better serve clients and grow their business.

Industry Expertise
- Business and healthcare marketing experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in rare and chronic disease marketing a plus.
